Congress-Abstract

Global Sustainability – a Future Scenario

Challenges of sustainability are in overcoming the unequal distribution of wealth in different regions of the globe. The global population growth must be stopped by increasing standard of living without increasing resource consumption. Technology can help in increasing the use-productivity of resources.
A reference model of management and technology, innovative processes and products by modern research and education in different societal frames is presented. Education and business are addressed as management tasks on paths to sustainability. Technologies, processes, and products for sustainability are exemplarily presented from a manufacturing engineering perspective.
